Christmas in Apple Ridge by Cindy
Woodsmall is a collection of three books.
I really like when the publisher combines them this way so you can read
the whole story in one book. I enjoyed all three stories very much.
The first is The Sound of Sleigh Bells. Lizzie is mourning the loss of her fiancé and
has no interest in changing out of her black dress and starting to enjoy life
again. She focuses on work in the shop
she and her friend Beth run and discovers work by an Amish artist named
Jonah. Beth decides to do some
matchmaking. Jonah and Lizzie start
communicating by mail but each of them think they are writing to a different
person than they actually are. What will
happen when they find out the truth?
In The Christmas Singing we meet Mattie who has started a
successful cake decorating shop and a boyfriend in Ohio. She moved there after her former boyfriend
Gideon broke up with her on Christmas Eve.
But when tragedy strikes and her bakery burns down she has no option but
to return home. Seeing Gideon again is
difficult for both of them. Both Mattie
and Gideon have some serious choices to make about their future.
The Dawn of Christmas is about Sadie who left home when she
caught her fiancée with her cousin. She
works at a shop with two other young women and wants to do mission work. When the shop closes she returns to her
family who do not approve of the mission work.
She meets Levi who also has vowed not to marry. They hatch a plan to pretend to court to keep
their families off the backs while they make other plans. Will it work out or does God have a different
plan for them?
