Book Review - A Season for Tending by Cindy Woodsmall

I have loved every Cindy Woodsmall book I have read but this was the best so far. I can’t wait to see how the story continues in the next book.

Rhoda has a gift of intuition and healing with the herbs from her garden. She also raises berries and has a successful business canning and selling them. The others in her community are suspicious of her gifts and she is forced to stop growing herbs. Later her entire garden is ruined in a vicious attack.

The King family own an organic orchard. When one brother neglects his section the loss of profits will hurt the family. By chance their sister ends up sleeping off a night of partying in Leah’s berry garden and the two families meet. Samuel King decides to try and get Rhoda to can King Orchard apples to salvage the crop.

All is not solved so simply. Rhoda is reluctant to help the King family at first. There is more tragedy at the orchard. Rhoda’s presence at King’s Orchard causes Samuel’s girlfriend to get jealous. Leah is struggling to deal with the fact that she might be pregnant. And two of the King brothers have feelings for Rhoda. Will Rhoda’s friend who is not Amish have a solution to help both families?

I received this book for free from Waterbrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review.
