My Favorite Things

February 1, 2007

This chubby little guy is Mocha and he gets his photo on my blog today because he is partly responsible for why I am mailing my Valentine's exchanges for the USEBB and SBEBB on the very last day.

Last Friday morning Mocha got startled while I was feeding him and bit me on the finger. He is normally quite tame and doesn't bite or have accidents when I hold him. It wasn't a bad bite and normally would have healed quickly but I started a new job on Friday at a coffee shop and had to wash my hands a lot over the weekend. I didn't have any hand cream at work and my hands got very dry and chapped. The spot where he bit me got so dry it split open. By my day off on Tuesday my finger was so sore it was agony to do the finishing on the little Valentines I had stitched. They were supposed to have beads but there was no way I could get them attached in time. Without a bandage my finger hurt too bad to hold a needle and with a bandage I was clumsy and "all thumbs". It also hurt to hold a pen and my handwriting on the cards I enclosed with them and the bills I had to pay is just terrible.

After I finished stitching yesterday I bandaged my finger up with Neosporin and it feels a lot better tonight. My Valentine exchanges have been mailed and they are on their way to two ladies who I hope will like them. Tonight I am going to watch DVDs and stitch on something for myself for a while before I start the next batch of exchange pieces. I can't wait to see what my partners have sent to me. Everyone always does such beautiful work.

Mocha is cute, even tho he slipped up and nipped at your finger. He reminds me of when my daughter has her rat, she snuck that rat in every where she went...school was her favorite place to do that!

Your Mocha reminds me of my parakeet, PD Bird. Usually he loves to sit on my finger, but sometimes he would rather bite it and it really hurts!

Who knew something so adorable could be so vicious!?

I'm sure Mocha regrets his actions. Your exchange partners will understand your delay. Happy Stitching, CJ

Chris,
I don't have your e-mail address, so I just wanted you to know that I rec'd the lovely exchange that you mailed to me :)
Thank you so, so much...it is adorable and the stitching is perfect. I've already posted to the USEBB and to my blog...again my sincere thanks, I've got the ornament already hanging on my "seasonal" wall and my baby loves the keyring and has been shaking it and tinkling all over the place...thank you so, so much :)

I sliced my finger and had to get stitches a few weeks before my niece's wedding and I was trying to finish her quilt. It was tough but I managed. I guess our fingers are more important to us crafters than we realize. Hope you get better!
