December 15, 2006
For the past two days I have done little more that sit on the couch and stitch while watching tv. It's my little celebration for finishing all my Christmas shopping, mailing and decorating. I finished this little chickadee from a UK magazine on Sassy's December COTM "Winter Blues" and I am very happy with how it turned out. I have another holiday design with a snowman that I want to stitch on the other half of this piece of fabric. I'm going to wait to finish him into an ornment until that one is done since it is easier to fit the hoop on the fabric before I cut it in half.
I've picked up my Papillion Mystery Sampler again and have decided to try and finish it by the end of the year or early in the new year. I'm almost finished with section 3 so it's not an impossible goal. I'm doing the anniversary option for the middle section and want to have it finished and framed for our 10th anniversary on Valentine's day.
Tomorrow starts my husband's annual 3 week vacation. He is usually working in the evenings so it feels very different when he is home and it is easy to get on each others nerves. Last year he worked on subcontract work and I worked extra shifts selling gift cards but this year he has nothing special planned. I was sick last Christmas because I had spent 2 weeks selling gift cards with sick people coughing on me and handing me money. It seemed like every person at my register was coughing or blowing their nose! Two other people want the extra shifts this year and I am happy to let them have them. Since I won't be working every day we can plan to do some things together this year.
