My Favorite Things

November 29, 2006

For the past two days I have been busy making ornaments from all the stitched pieces I've done. I have one more to construct and I'm stitching away on one more hoping to get it done this weekend. Will moved one of the living room chairs upstairs and made room for the tree. The tree has been brought up from the basement and as you can see Min is guarding it for us. What is it about boxes that whenever you bring one in the house the cat has to sit on it?

Two weeks ago our housemate Mike fell and broke his wrist. The splint they put on it pressed a nerve when his hand and arm swelled and paralyzed his arm. About 20 years ago he had injured this arm and temporarily paralyzed it. He's in therapy now and is slowly regaining use of his arm and hand. At the same time he is going through all the tests and consultations to see about having the operation to remove the tumors from his chest and abdomen. So far he is in remission and his blood count has been good enough he hasn't had to have Procrit shots for 3 weeks. Our holiday season this year is going to be spent in a lot of hospital waiting rooms and doctor's offices.

While I was writing about Mike his cat took over guarding the Christmas tree box. This is Nikki. I expect his sister Gwynny to sit on the box next. They cats are going to be disapointed when we take the tree out and remove the box.

LOL, I'll have to get one of Rascal guarding the real tree. He thinks it's brilliant.

Cats are such good guards for boxes! How cute they all are!

My best wishes and prayers go out to your housemate! I hope everything goes well for him.

OMG your Min looks exactly like my Kramer, but a big lighter ... colored that is. My cat's at about 24 lbs now and tries to squeeze into boxes he just shouldn't. Funny stuff.

Good wishes to your roomie!
